7th Floor Vault Installation in Central London

When you are looking for size and security, like many of our commercial clients, even the largest of safes won’t do the job.

This is exactly the situation for one of our commercial clients in central London. They were looking for the highest levels of security in a fire and explosion proof room 2.4m High by 2.5m wide and 2.5m deep on the 7th floor of a shared commercial building.

The site manager was concerned about the logistics of getting a vault constructed without disrupting the other businesses in the building. It was important that noise did not impact the other businesses and that there was no onsite welding that may create a fire risk. The location of the office also meant avoiding any disruption to the midweek central London traffic.

Modular Vaults and Flexible Installation

When a client is looking for a vault, or if there are unusual installation requirements for our safes, we always carry out a survey. This ensures that everything goes smoothly when we install the vault and that we will not encounter any problems that may result in the job being aborted.

Having visited the site and completed the survey, we proposed a solution which would provide the company with the security measures they needed without disrupting the other businesses in the building or impacting the traffic.

The vault selected was modular and unlike other modular vaults, it did not need welding together. This meant that we would be able to construct the vault safely without needing to empty the building of any personnel from the other businesses.

We scheduled in the delivery and installation for a weekend so that the impact on the central London traffic and the other businesses would be minimised.

Safe in the hands of our mobile crane

All the panels and door were brought to the site using our mobile crane lorry. Then, due to the height of the installation (7th floor), we used a mobile crane to lift all the parts up to the required height. All the parts were then brought into the building via a window.

Once inside, the vault was made up of panels which were bolted together to form the impressive 6 sided room with an integrated roof and floor.

In Conclusion

Even with the complexity of the 7th floor, London traffic and shared commercial property, the vault installation went smoothly and staff arrived Monday morning to the new vault room.

We supply and install high-security vaults, panic rooms and strongrooms of all sizes to suit your individual needs and budget, working with you to find the best possible solution within the constraints of the site.
